And I'm super proud of it… <3

So the short version is I REALLY wanted to draw Celestia with short hair.
The result, imo, is adorableness!! And it's inadvertently led to more material for the ShadOVerse (again)… I wasn't planning on giving the Celestia and Luna "NextGen" designs. They're immortals and seem to have stayed exactly the same throughout the ages. But I gave that little tweak to Discord, and now this… I just can't help myself. Guess Luna's going to be getting a NextGen/future/older design makeover as well. XD

So the "canon" story behind Celestia's haircut…
Initially, I was going to go with something really epic. Like she went to battle against some threat to Equestria and lopped off all her hair because it was a hindrance in the fight. After all, your hair will grow back, your limbs will not. But then I decided to go more subtle… and more personal.

See I've always had IMMENSE respect for Tia. She is friggin' hardcore, and too few people realize it. After how long she's lived, and all the crap she's been through… most people would have gone off the deep end a LONG time ago. I certainly would have. She must have a mental constitution made of TITANIUM to be as emotionally balanced as she is. But still, Celestia is not impervious to stress and anxiety. No one is. And at a point when she was coming back after feeling particularly low, she did what I did when I was recovering from depression: she chopped off all her hair. It was symbolic of starting fresh for myself. I felt lighter, like all the bad stuff went away with my lopped of locks. And I think Tia felt the same way after this. <3

I'd actually really like to make a little comic about this even sometime.
