The second eldest of the Pie family siblings, Maud Pie is the first to meet the Warriors. She met her sister’s 5 friends during a break in her studies, but at the time was only learning of Geomancy. An incident during the visit causes a rockslide, and in an attempt to save Pinkie, Maud successfully manipulates the earth. She departed with a newfound confidence in her ability (Pinkie’s word). It was a while before she joined the group permanently.

Her assistance with the Smooze incident in Canterlot made her realize that she may need to take a break from her studies to help the Warriors battle an oncoming threat. Her Geomancy was far from mastered when she made this decision, but Maud also knew that her magic was something that needed to be done in practice rather than be read about. Maud’s mastery of her earthen magick shows itself as the manipulations become more and more grand in scale. Starting from harsh winds and localized earthquakes going to cyclones and miles deep fissures.

The Geomancy Maud uses leaves many in awe of her magicks. She’s asked often how she can use magic if she’s an Earth pony. Her plainly given response is that she’s not doing magick, the world around her is. Maud’s flat personality is understood only by those close to her, and those in the know will tell others that under that cold exterior lies a mare with fire and passion. Even something as subtle as a blink can tell those close to her whatever she’s feeling at the time.

Krile’s Bell — A Geomancer’s best friend. She never leaves home without it. Its said that the design comes from a legendary Geomancer. The clapper of the bell is custom to Maud to resemble her pet, Boulder.

Boulder — Maud’s pet rock. He may look a little tough, but he’s a big softie (and a little on the quiet side). He enjoys long walks on the beach and is currently single (ladies).
