R4R4R4 is a robot designed and built by a pair of engineers, Convex Curve and her husband Magnum, and imbued with life by the ruler of Equestria herself. R4-R4-R4 is Rarity's counterpart in an alternate timeline in which Celestia removed her own crown after Nightmare Moon was defeated and their long war was over and done with, seeing herself as unfit to rule the shattered country of Equestria. In her place came Seezix Zevenne, an alicorn of metal and wires but with a heart and mind as pure as any normal pony.

Seezix set to work fixing the Royal Sisters' mistakes. Canterlot was built in just one year, replacing the decimated capital, and order slowly returned to the country. A thousand years later, metallic Golems are an everyday sight in Equestria and the nation is at the top of the food chain in almost every single category, with the lone exception being magical power due to Equestria's focus on technology.
