I've been really nervous to the thought of ever posting something like this. Wow a pony creator pic and a recolor in one, that'll go well. I'm really sorry if this pic isn't to many people's liking, and I don't expect this to be one of my more popular uploads, but in my craving to share some of my best or most liked ideas with the fandom, I had to create my OC for my planned-yet-postponed fanfic I wrote, and practically lived, in college. Trust me, you guys don't want to see me actually draw ponies. I'm not very good at it.

So on to this guy, who I've posted in many forms on my DeviantArt account as not only a pony OC of mine, but practically my ponysona. This is Star Bolt. (I know there's at least 6 other pictures on Derpibooru and probably many more on DA of a pony named Star Bolt. I swear I didn't steal anyone's OC, I just borrowed the name because it sounded nice to me. Any likeness of my Star Bolt to any other Star Bolt's actual character is purely coincidental.) As a huge fan of aerial combat, especially in games, I decided to write a fanfic about Star Bolt during my college creative writing class as part of my journaling assignment. The fanfic is practically through the alpha phase of writing, but I have yet to edit it to be suitable for most MLP fanfic audiences. (There were many plot points that many of my friends liked, but I felt were dumb.) So here's the basics:

In an AU Equestria, Star Bolt is a pegasus who lives in Ponyville hoping to become a Wonderbolt. He's greatly inspired by Rainbow Dash, who he is good friends with. As far as his skill in flying, he's good, but not as good as RD. However, he does have a bit of a cocky attitude and ego regarding his skills, which tends to lead him to trouble. One day, out of nowhere, Princess Luna goes missing. A few weeks later, Nightmare Moon reappears, and gathers an army of lunar loyalists to form the Lunar Empire from the Luna Bay. Vowing revenge from her previous defeat, she declares war on Equestria, rapidly claiming territory through a blitzkrieg offensive thanks to her team of battle ready Shadowbolts. As a counter to their air superiority, Princess Celestia orders a mass recruiting campaign through the Wonderbolts. Fearing for the well being of his friend, and willing to serve in battle, Star Bolt enlists into the Wonderbolt Academy. There he goes through accelerated training for the use of Equestria's latest development in pegasi aerial warfare: the flier battlepack, capable of firing and/or dropping magically generated ordinance from bays on the side or underneath, and also including assist thrusters, all powered by magically charged batteries on the back, which could be recharged on the ground or through mid-air recharging. Through his training he would meet his new team mates: Aurora Gust and Breeze Rider, and together would rise through the ranks to help end the war, and hopefully uncover the odd mystery of why Luna would turn on Equestria. Star Bolt, and much of Equestrian High Command, believes something else might have been the true catalyst to this conflict.
