For those of us relatively new to tabletop gaming, perhaps the veterans could explain why that is?

Twilight Sparkle: I can’t believe I brought one home! I cast Fireball on the blue flower I have before it does anything else!
DM: Um, what? You sure you want to do that inside your tree?
Twilight Sparkle: Oh! Sorry. You’re right. I don’t know what came over me. I should go outside, construct a proper fire pit, and THEN FIREBALL!!
DM: Woah. Uh… I guess you could do that.
Rainbow Dash: Heh heh. It’s almost like we have an actual Wizard on the team.
