Rainbow Dash: Hey, since there's a griffon PC now, tell us about griffons! And don't make it boring!
Rarity: Yes, please. More worldbuilding is always appreciated.
Gilda: Eh, as far as I'm concerned, the important thing is that I'm not a pretty pink pony.
Pinkie Pie: Me neither! I'm a silly pink pony!
DM: Well… <ahem> To summarize in three acts: Act 1, griffons were known to be as greedy and territorial as dragons. Act 2, the first King of Griffonstone found a treasure so beautiful that it united the entire race. Act 3… they lost it.
Gilda: PFFHAHAHA! Aww, classic.
Fluttershy: That's… awful. How can you laugh about the plight of your own people?
Gilda: I dunno, it's just the way it was said. And what do I care? All it means is that my Fighter's even more awesome because she grew up in a harsh homeland, the broken remnants of a once great kingdom. Tell me that's not metal.

DM: I don't know what you're talking about. It's not like I had plans to have you recruit the griffons against the armies of Nightmare Moon or anything…
