Now that we're deep into this episode, I just want to say that I'm really fascinated by the discussion I'm seeing in the comments sections. Especially how the points are colored by everyone's personal experiences. It's like a long-running meta-Story Time.
Anyway, here's just a little bit more implausible Thieves Guild worldbuilding because I cannot let it go, apparently.
Transcript:Discord: I know what you're thinking: "But Discord, what enemies could I possibly have left?!" Did you really think that the usurpation of the Thieves Guild would have no ripple effects? That no one would figure it out? To some of your colleagues, "Rarity" is now the name of a traitor.
Rarity: But the Guild will be better for it!
Discord: Oh, between you and me, I absolutely agree. Regicide? How dull. But, uh, good luck convincing them of your good intentions. Imagine the power and influence any one of them could buy with this diamond. Imagine the ways they could use it against you and your friends. Unless…
Rarity: I'm… I'm not that kind of pony…
Discord: And I would believe that, Rarity… if there weren't SO much evidence that you totally are.
