So I mentioned on twitter how my life has been changed by the show but I can only fit so much in 30 characters.

I joined this community in-between season 8 and season 9 which means I haven't been around as long as most other members but that hasn't stopped me from watching every episode and experiencing the fandom. I've never been more moved and inspired by anything else in my entire life. The show helped me during a time where I couldn't find any reason to get out of bed and only had a few real friends. For the longest time, I felt so alone and when I stumbled across the show and spent the time to actually watch a few episodes I just couldn't stop. I was captivated by the characters and I felt every emotion they felt to the point where I felt like I was a part of the show.

Since that moment, I've decided to have more of a positive view of the world, work harder in my studies, and become an artist. well, at least try to become one. I don't think I'm quite there yet… Nevertheless, I keep trying because if I've learned anything from that show is that as long as I keep smiling, keeping my head up, working hard, I will eventually find those who will truly care about me. The only regret I have is not joining the fandom earlier… I missed out on all the conventions I could have attended and the experiences I could have gotten. Because of this, (and maybe because of my age) I haven't really made any friends in the community like I had wished but still I'm very happy with where I am at the moment. Sure, I'm upset that the show ended and maybe a little worried about the fandom's future but I'm sure everything will work out. I, for one, am not going anywhere anytime soon.

I will continue to secretly sketch ponies and hide them from everyone I know. I will continue to be a part of the community by both watching other people's work and creating my own. I will continue to try to be the best person I can be.
