Retrieving Fluttershy’s Homework
Part 1/8:

It had been a few days after winter break had started and Fluttershy had already caught a cold. Luckily, it wasn’t long before her friends arrived to help cheer her up.

Twilight: We came as soon as we heard. How are you feeling?

Fluttershy grabs a tissue from her bedside drawer and blows her nose.

Fluttershy: (Stuffed up) Awful. I’m afraid- (sniff) I won’t be able to join any of you for any fun activities. I’ll just have to (sniff) stay here in bed for Lord knows how long.

Sunset walks over and strokes her head.

Sunset: Aww, it’s okay. I’m sure someone will look after you and keep you company.

Rainbow: Yeah, what about (shudder) Zephyr. Can’t he look after you.

Fluttershy: Unfortunately, (sniff) no. Zephyr is on a skiing vacation with Mom and Dad over in Switzerland. I’m still here because (blows nose) Mom knows how scared I am at it. The height of the mountains, the speed going back down, the likely possibility I would fall over and get seriously injured (gasp)… (blows nose) My Mom is very protective.

Sunset: Well, if Zephyr can’t take care of you, we will. Right guys?

Twilight: Yeah.

Rainbow: Well… this would mean we won’t do many activities, but, eh. Anything to put that adorable smile back on your face.

Fluttershy blushes and smiles for the first time in ages.

Sunset: So, uh, is there anything you need? Your phone or some soup or-

Fluttershy: Well, actually, (sniff) I think I’d better get my Math homework done before anything else. Sick or not, I don’t want to leave it at the last minute.

Rainbow looks away in a guilty expression.

Twilight: Hmm. Using the same strategy I use everyday. Good thinking.

She found Fluttershy’s rucksack, opened it up and searched for the paperwork inside. She checks every section and every pocket.

Twilight: Uh, Fluttershy? There’s no homework in here. All that’s in here is your pencil case and lunch box.

Fluttershy: (gasp) Oh no. Miss Cheerlie must’ve forgotten to hand it to me. (Sniff) And we can’t go into the school to find it. The school is closed for winter break. Oh, what do we do. (sniff)

They all have a good long think.

Sunset: I have an idea. It may be a crazy one (holds Fluttershy’s hand) but it’ll work. We’ll all do everything we can during your illness.

Fluttershy: (sniff) Thank you.

Sunset: Okay, this is what we’re going to do. …
