"I'm not tacitly against bringing in new people on a temporary or permanent basis to spice things up, or changing things around to fix what might not be working. But, while I don't think what Sunset and Twilight did is bad (obviously, or I wouldn't have written this comic to begin with), I don't think it's the sort of thing you should do without talking to each other.

On the other hand, not communicating is sort of the whole bread and butter of these types of problems in the first place. Especially in the world of fiction, where conflict is…almost always necessary for an interesting story.

On the other other hand, it's less entertaining when it happens because characters just…fail to pick up on pretty obvious signs.

I am amazed that they figured out the clues from famed secret keeper and master of body language, Twilight Sparkle, though.

Story Time: Any time the DM tried to tweak something and just…could not keep it a secret?"

Twilight Sparkle: O…kay? Great! Get in here, we need to talk.
PP: GASP! THE FOUR DREADED WORDS! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE BREAKING UP THE BAND! AFTER ALL WE’VE BEEN THROUGH TOGETHER!
Twilight Sparkle: What? We’ve only known each other for like, two hours. And we’re not a band. And did you just say gasp out loud?
PP: BUT WE ARE A BAND! A MERRY BAND OF HEROES! AND THOSE TWO HOURS WERE MAGICAL! HOW COULD WE EVER FIND ANOTHER-
AJ: You wanted to say somethin’?
PP: Can’t a gal make a joke?
Twilight Sparkle: So, I was curious: How do you all think we should solve this crown dilemma?
RT: Well, I’ve given it some thought, and I think copying an artifact from beyond our realm is slightly beyond my skills. But I do have something I can give you later.
Twilight Sparkle: Uh…thanks?
RD: Don’t say that till you see it.
AJ: Quiet you.
Twilight Sparkle: Hey, it’s still something to try! What about the rest of you, is there anything you wanted to try out? Test your skills, or do something cool, or-
AJ: The DM brought you here to “fix” this, didn’t they.
Twilight Sparkle: What? Why would you say that? It’s not…exactly true…was it that obvious?
