Guest Author's Note: "As a GM, I like to roll dice. It's just a thing I like to do. Sometimes I do it without any purpose behind it! So when the players have made allies of NPCs, I like to roll for them when they assist with skill checks or challenges.

I have switched to rolling behind a screen for that because I need to be able to fudge the numbers more with allies than anything else. For…whatever reason, my luck with NPC ally rolls comes in two forms; Useless and Showstealer. Either way can end up super funny! But only when it happens sometimes. Too much, and suddenly the players feel like their performing the worst sort of escort quest, or feel like they aren't the stars of the game. And both of those suck.

Story Time: Any stories about hilarious NPC rolls?

FS: That’s fine.
MD: Good. Let’s see how well you all fix it up.

MD: So I see the dice decided to save all of their luck for minions and decorating. Cool.
PP: Hey, that’s alright by me! Soooooooooo…Did we do it?
MD: With the help of your freakishly competent fellow students…yes. The gym will be ready by tonight.
PP: YES! EAT IT SUNSET! WHO CAN’T DECORATE NOW!?
MD: Well, for this you all obviously earned some respect from the student body.
PP: …wait.
MD: What’s tomorrow’s plan to seal the deal?
Twilight Sparkle: You know, I think I finally have an idea. I don’t think we can beat Sunset at her own game…So let’s do something that she can’t. Get the students working together and happy to be here.
RT: Like a pep rally! Or a victorious soccer match! Ooh, I know I have those headbands somewhere around here!
FS: So a plan to make it less about a single person, and more about everyone?
AJ: Well, ah don’t know about y’all, but ah’m in!
PP: Me too!
RD: I’m always down to win again. Ready to have some real fun?
