About:
As with other fawnponds she was a regular doe before becoming one. She was born on a January afternoon and was named based on her family's traditional naming scheme, which came from her mother December Dusk's side. She has one younger brother, September Evening.

Her family used to live in a mansion in a forest when she was young and always looked after and played amongst the nature. However after a bad financial decision their family business collapsed and they had to move out. As she grew older Jan began to make trips back to visit and was horrified by how the new owners were treating the wildlife and polluting the surroundings. She vowed to do something about it.
One day a fortune teller told her that her time was coming. So she sold all her possessions and took all her money to buy back the mansion and surrounding land, spending what she thought were her last days single-hoofedly attempting to clean and revitalise the forest and the pond inside it. However even her best efforts were to no avail, she couldn't restore the place to its former glory.
On the day the fortune teller had prophesied she would pass on, she instead woke up as a Fawnpond. She witnessed a pond pony restoring the pond by sacrificing her water, and realised she herself also had powers. Using her newfound abilities she slowly brought the damaged plants back to life.

She now lives in the forest mansion and mostly relies on the natural resources in the forest, though she also sells some of her paintings of the scenery to earn some money, plus on occasion when she goes "on vacation" out to the city she also uses her powers to heal others' gardens. She saves up so she can take trips to visit sites of natural beauty around the world and paint them or at least take pictures for her to reference paintings from. As she doesn't have any sort of telekenisis ability she isn't that precise with manipulating the brush though the abstract style this results in has proven somewhat popular.

Since she bought back the forest mansion her family have been planning to move back in with her as they all have very fond memories and emotional connections to the place (that being one of the reasons why Jan cares so much about it to begin with)

She has learnt to be good at hiding/withstanding pain as Fawnponds can feel the pain of their forest and so she was in agonising pain after she became one. If it weren't for the fact that she had passed out beside the pond the day before, she would have probably tried to sleep off the pain and would never have seen the Pond Pony, thus never would have discovered what she was and what she could do. Part of what helped her power through was her determination to complete her goal of restoring the forest, the memories of the joy that the forest brought to her family and also to repay nature for its gift of Fawnpond powers and continued life.

Loud noises/music — she has rather sensitive ears
Extremely hot weather. It may just be her imagining it, but she swears that after she became a Fawnpond she has become more sensitive to heat and refuses to go to places known to be very hot as she fears her hooves will melt, even though she's been repeatedly told they won't
Stubbornness in other ponies — even though she can be so herself
Pranks
Immature/childish ponies
Ponies who try to rush things along or try to push her towards the fast-paced way of living. She believes that her "transformation" was a message that she had to put her past self behind as well, including her old city lifestyle, and slow down so she can enjoy and appreciate the finer details in life. Since she was prophesied to pass away on that day but instead became a Fawnpond she views it as a second chance at life that she was blessed with.

Personality:

Very superstitious, but she follows her family's traditional superstitions rather than some more well-known ones. For example she isn't afraid of Friday the 13th but will always stay indoors the day after Halloween as it is known to have always been a day of bad luck for her family.
Determined, even if her goal is unrealistic

Calm and generally level-headed
Doesn't hold grudges but only if she is given an apology
When she is angry she tends to stay quiet and just give some cold glares rather than shout, yell or use violence
Talks to animals even though they don't understand her and she can't understand them
