This is Destiny Blood's vampire side. She turns to this side when she's trying to protect her loved ones from harm. It's powered by her Special Gem on her necklace.

Destiny wanted to change the charm on her necklace. Just as she replaced it with her Special Gem, it turned her into a vampire. She could only turn back to normal if she wanted to, and Destiny did so because she didn't want to stay like this forever. However, she still keeps her Special Gem with her to this day because without it, she wouldn't be able to defend herself or those she cares about.
