Personality/Background:

The daughter of Zephyr Breeze and Discord, Verisimilitude is generally sweet and kind but has trouble connecting with other ponies. Zephyr and Discord met through Fluttershy and quickly became friends with benefits for a while — right up until Discord laid an egg and both of them realized that oops, they were having a kid! Neither of them were really prepared for this, and both reacted differently. Zephyr was very uninvolved as a parent, often dipping in and out of Discord and Vee's lives and disappearing for weeks at a time. This left Discord essentially parenting Veri on his own, something he ends up feeling a lot of resentment about because 1) he's now basically a single parent and 2) he's been unable to engage in the kind of chaotic shenanigans he'd like to because of the responsibilities he now has to his daughter. Although all of this resentment was directed towards Zephyr, little Vee was very aware of it and assumed that she was to blame because she didn't really understand what was going on between her parents or why Daddy was always away for so long. Fluttershy has tried to talk some sense into Zephyr and maybe convince him that Vee deserved to grow up with both of her parents in her life, but it's hard to tell a pony off for never being around when they're not around to hear you.

Oftentimes Zephyr would visit only to disappear a couple days later when Vee was asleep/out of the house or give a hasty goodbye with very little explanation, leaving Vee always worried that he wouldn't come back or devastated when she'd come home from school and he was already gone. Because of this instability, she developed a habit of distancing herself from other ponies because if she didn't care about them, it wouldn't hurt when they left. She's quiet and tends to keep to herself, having very few close friends. Veri doesn't seem to have a consistent job, instead taking work wherever she can find it. She's usually juggling 2 or 3 jobs at once and tends to sleep at odd hours because of this. Although Vee tends to be rather withdrawn, she loves making jokes and often catches ponies off-guard with a witty quip or a pun. She doesn't usually cause a lot of chaos, though, preferring to avoid drawing attention to herself. It would help her a lot to come out of her shell and make more friends.

she's here! i've had this character in my head for a couple months now and i finally finished her ref.

some design notes:
For Veri, i wanted to create a design that was more symmetrical that Discord's while still maintaining that sense of disharmony, and the animal-based dichotomy i settled on was "tortoise and the hare." The shell and the tail belong to a sea turtle and a jackrabbit respectively, the back legs are those of a hare, and the forelegs are those of a tortoiseshell cat. Her shell pattern is very loosely based on one of the symbols for chaos . For a full diagram of her shell pattern, click here. The markings on her forelegs don't have to be exact.
Her mane tends to have a lot of body and wave around her like she's underwater; it's not completely flat unless she's really upset. When Zephyr was actually around, the time they spent together often involved him styling her hair, so she'll experiment with different looks every so often.
some fun facts:
Veri prefers to float/"swim" through the air rather than walk because her size and weird legs tend to make it harder to maneuver easily on land. When she does have to be on the ground, she usually hops on all fours like a rabbit.
Since her shell is that of a sea turtle, she can't pull back into it to hide.
Although she can technically use magic with any part of her body, she tends to use her paws to cast spells/teleport. She doesn't have a visible magic aura.
