Cadance fired the bridesmaids because she realized they were only participating so they could meet royalty. So she replaced with with your trusted FRIENDS, who actually CARE.

Shining Armor: The old ones most likely skipped town out of shame! And that spell you saw was a HEALING spell, to deal with my terrible migraines from keeping the force field up!
