- Calvary Troop, more commonly known and Troop, is the first child of Twilight Sparkle and Tempest Shadow, but you couldn't tell if you met him. Unlike his mothers, Troop is very aloof and clumsy. But this doesn't change his easygoing and peaceful personality. He tries to be on friendly terms with everyone he has met, and has a very positive aura.

- Despite what his cutiemark may suggest, Troop isn't too keen on violence. Even with multiple invitations, Troop refuses to join the royal guard. This has caused a bit of rift between him and his mother, Tempest, who wishes he would use his talent. But Troop hates the idea of hurting another creature. Additionally, he struggles to get along with his mom, Twilight. The only thing they seem to have in common is their love of reading.

- Troop is childhood friends with Raincloud, Rainbow Dash's daughter. Due to past events, their relationship was tense for a couple of years, but they made up and are stronger friends than before. They both had another friend who…they haven't been able to make up with.

- During his childhood, Troop had a bullying phase. It was soon after he was introduced to public school and made of couple of unsavory friends. He doesn't talk much about it, but they eventually had a falling out after bullying one his Troop's other friends. It's still a tender subject for him, only those involved and Tempest know about what happened.

- Troop loves his little sister, Infinity, but they have an odd relationship. One of their best bonding exercises is having heated arguments. Or, as they call them, debates. You wouldn't be able to tell if you watched them though, it's quite the spectacle.

- Troop doesn't understand romantic advances. Many ponies flirt with him, but he just doesn't understand these interactions.

- Troop got his earring from a dare. Someone dared him to get his ear pierced, and he wasn't one to back down. He kind of regrets it now, but at least it looks good.

- Troop doesn't like his half-brother. For the sake of Spellbook, Troop tries to stay civil, but he just doesn't want the foal around his family.
