I'm not asking if it's likely or even possible. I don't care if Princess Celestia could magically fix it.
Let's just say the producers & animators pulled something crazy out of their plotholes and from now on the central character is blind in one eye and wears a patch over it…no other effect on the show (except maybe Twilight doesn't like to be approached on her right side anymore).
