What's with the low activity?

The activity on this site is insanely slow. Both in terms of uploads and comments. Really by every metric it feels like I am the only one here.

I wonder why the activity is so slow. Every other booru I have been to has more activity than this site. Yes, that includes Derpibooru-which goes without saying. But it also includes Manebooru, Tantabus, and Twibooru. Is this site even earning enough money through advertising to pay for the domain fees? It really concerns me.
