For the longest time, giraffes were considered mere animals-much like pigs- for the reason that though they may have eyes that hint pony-like intelligence, giraffes for the better part of ponies' understanding did not speak.Turns out that this hypothesis was in fact false— Giraffes are actually quite soft spoken, and prefer to communicate with short words at sub-audible levels. This was discovered in part by Fluttershy through a giraffe she allowed to live in her newly built animal sanctuary. Some ponies hear her humming Zebrican folk songs at night.
