I mean what the fudge?!
This book will have Twilight, cheat on Timber, or at least be very tempted to do so, with a guy, she possibly knows for an hour or maybe minutes (Celestia, I really hope not minutes).
I mean, I and others wrote the writers wrote Sci-Twi, when she romances people, (arguably) behaves like a stereotypical lovestruck teen, and behaves Out of Character, but this (possibly) reaches a new level of bad in this case.
I and from what I see, others, really hope Twilight will be under a literal spell of Rising Star, but it can be he just made Twilight fall for him with his charisma, in which case (which is the worst), this would be some really visible character derailment.
And Really, the first male villain in Equestria Girls, and he's a seducer type villain, who blatantly tries/seduces Sci-Twi? This is really how they will portray the first real male antagonist? As seemingly a stereotypical Femme Fatale, just gender-bent?
I mean, yes, the writing on guys wasn't really good in Equestria Girls, but this reaches a new high.
I really hope this book won't have an animated counterpart, and something in latter Equestria Girls animations will contradict it.
But even with that, I feel this leave bad effects in the fandom/bad aftertaste in the fandom. Again, how it handles the first direct male antagonist, and how it will probably make a number of people stereotype Sci-Twi (even if she is under a spell), mockingly or seriously, as boy crazy teen, or Bella (from Twilight) type character…
Dunno, maybe I'm overreacting, but if this is an indication of things to come, this may be a quite bad direction to take Equestria Girls. (or at least I think so)
