On the day Petunia found her ponysaurus skull, she was happy. She had finally figured out what her special talent was, paleontology! Digging in the ground for remnants of the past was so exciting and this skull was only the first great discovery she made! So many more wonderful things awaited her now…..
In the first night, Petunia thought her ponysaurus skull had moved on the shelf she put it on. But it was late and she was tired, so it was nothing but her imagination.
In the second night, Petunia got woken up by a bang and found her skull on the floor. She figured it was a small earthquake, put the skull back on the shelf and went to sleep again.
In the third night, Petunia noticed how the eye sockets of her skull were glowing for a short moment. It unsettled her, but surely it had just been the moonlight, so she turned on the other side where she wouldn't have to look at her skull anymore and fell asleep.
In the fourth night, a hellish laughter tore Petunia out of her sleep. It could not have been her ponysaurus skull who was laughing there, though, no, never, because daddy brought it out into the shed. It was nothing but a nightmare, she assured herself. Nonetheless, her eyes stayed open until it was morning.
In the fifth night, Petunia finally screamed. Her ponysaurus skull was in her bed, on her blanket, staring at her from empty, glowing eye sockets! Petunia was scared to death. But, luckily, she could already hear her parents galloping in the corridor, coming to save her.
In the sixth night, Petunia was not scared anymore. Full of joy, she hugged her ponysaurus skull under the blanket. Now they were friends. It even made her a gift, now her eyes could glow, too! They would stay together, forever and ever…..
