No, they’re not really dead ponies. The scene was referencing the ending of a film called ’Dead Poets Society’, where Robin Williams’ students stand on their desks and salute him by saying ’oh captain, my captain’, as he had taught them.
ps. I had to reuload this image after realizing that black text with a white background was very hard to read.
