Primarch of the 17th Legion: Red Eye — The First Heretic

When the 17th arrived at Fillydelphia, they found a hell on Equis, a city of pain and suffering, where slaves toiled in pits and their masters watched from above. The Empress joined the 17th to purge the city. When she learned of the city's leader she was actually impressed, a single stallion had managed to create a small empire and work it to an ultimate goal, however his methods were flawed and primitive, thus she came to educate him. The 17th struck without warning, slaughtering the slave masters and liberating the slaves, bolter fire and volkite charges filled the streets as the slavers had little hope of cutting through the armor of Steel Warriors, only shots from specially designed rifles could hope to penetrate its armor, but the slavers couldn't halt the Warrior's progress. Whilst this battle was taking place, the Empress appeared before Red Eye, teleporting into his throne room. The slave master bowed to the alicorn standing before him as the Empress teleported him far away. The Empress then forced the stallion to watch as his city was burned to the ground, all while telling the soon to be Primarch what exactly he did wrong. When the city had been turned to naught but rubble and ash the Empress gave Red Eye a chance to redeem himself and ceasing his chance he became Primarch of the 17th. Throughout the Great Crusade, he still carried some form of grudge against the Empress, still angry at her for burning his city to the ground and slaughtering his friends, the first chaplain of the 17th, Protege, took advantage of his anger and began corrupting him to the will of Chaos.
