…
The Land is one of the four Elementals that exist on Epona, this one representing the powers of earth, growth and time. In contrast to The Sky, The Land is lonely. No one comes to visit, because no one knows where he is. The only company he has comes in the form of special caretakers who watch over him as the years pass like minutes. Most grow old and die before he can even greet them.
The Land is not jealous, but he still looks up into the blue sky with a sense of longing. His movements may be slow, but his mind is not. He ponders to himself, listening and feeling the vibrations of the planet's crust, remembering when life was better than this. Ponies didn't used to live such short lives, after all. They used to be bigger, more powerful, and they would take the years off their own lives to speak with him. Now? The old ones are nothing but a thin layer of dust miles beneath the surface, and the metallic ruins of their civilization beyond even that.
The Land knows the concept of entropy. It's his only permanent companion.
