This is my contribution to whiteheather's Charity Quilt Project for Everfree Northwest 2015! This time around, each square on the quilt is going to reflect a different episode from season 1, and I was assigned Applebuck Season.
Applejack's eyes, nose, and mouth were all machine-embroidered, and the rest of the square was appliqued by hand on my machine. From a technical standpoint, I'm MUCH happier with how this one came out. I learned from my mistakes last time and made good use of fusible web to keep my pieces in place while I appliqued. The entire square is much smoother and neater as a result, and it was SO much easier to work with as well!
Being a part of the original quilt project, which garnered $20,000 for charity earlier this year, has been one of the biggest highlights of my time in this fandom. I really hope this new quilt does just as well, if not better than, the first one. Either way, I'm proud to play my part in its creation. Things like this are the best part about being a brony. :D
