I like that Pinkie's defining trait of randomness doesn't exclude her being, out of nowhere, incredibly perceptive and on-point. Maybe I'm starting to make a habit of writing her that way, but darn it it's just so much fun.

Mawlers Take Manehattan — Session 1 — Career Day: Libsyn YouTube
Transcript:Pinkie Pie: Aaaand they're off! The official Running of the Leaves coverage begins now!
Spike: That's right! The race is on!
Pinkie Pie: Hey, Spike, you ever thought about why we need a Running of the Leaves at all?
Spike: …Huh? No, can't say I have.
Pinkie Pie: Imagine if we didn't do this and the leaves stayed on the trees through the winter. The trees would still be trying to photosynthesize and absorb nutrients through their pores. When the dry, cold weather comes in, they'd be dangerously exposed! If it puts the plants at risk, why do we leave it up to my little ponies? Why not let nature take its course?
Spike: Uh… Because… Um… Because we already control so many other aspects of nature? This… fits into our grand design for the seasons?
Pinkie Pie: Yeah, but do the leaves really stay on forever if we don't do this? I mean, what, did we put superglue on them in the Spring?
Spike: <sigh>
