I know there's plenty of missed opportunities the show didn't do, but think about this: the comic series isn't ending anytime soon! 100 issues are confirmed! Maybe more! And since the show is over, there's absolutely nothing to stop the comic series from going crazy with ideas!
The comic series is our best hope for unanswered questions. And let's hope they do a really good job with them, and hope we can consider them canon if possible!
