Ever come across that magical moment — actually, both in a tabletop game or in real life! — where you come across an obscure situation that you were uniquely and solely qualified for? It doesn't happen often, but it's beautiful when it does.
In other news, after this past Sunday's Fallout is Dragons, I'm faced with a kind of terrifying prospect: That the campaign's climax is upon us, and the ending won't be very far behind.
Transcript:DM: The rear of the group, some 12 to 15 Breezies, is thrown into complete disarray, spinning and spiraling out of control. The forward Breezies are powerless to help them as they are carried away by the wind.
Rainbow Dash: I move in to save them! I roll Athletics, right?
DM: Well, hold on. That movement will generate more wind. Fly in too fast, and you'll just scatter them even further apart.
Rainbow Dash: Uh… okay. So I fly very slowly, problem solved.
DM: But if you're too slow, you won't be able to catch them. You need an Athletics or Acrobatics skill result that isn't too high or too low.
