Page 840 — New and Behooved
And that's Pinkie Pride!
If the first six panels look familiar or even retro, that's because they're the stills I took the original character sheet portraits from all those years ago. The episode files I had at the time used a different color balance, and I've also had a hard drive failure and new computer since then, so I needed to get new screencaps if I wanted to use the same portraits on the new sheets, and then I figured, "Hey…"
The character sheets themselves are done (finally) — I even made ones for Gilda and Cheese Sandwich — but the neat little cards for the Cast page are not done yet. That's a day's work in and of itself, and I got right up to the line already reaching the end of this arc. I'll get those up tomorrow, hopefully.
It looks like there might be a small guest arc between this and the next storyline. And why not? I could use a Winter Break.
Next up: Sonic Rainboom!
Transcript:DM: Well, since we're already on the topic, how about we go around the table one more time? How's everybody feeling about their Level 9 characters?
Fluttershy: Um, I'm… mostly… the same. I… changed a couple of powers I just wasn't using… if that's okay…
DM: Yeah, it's fine. Though remind me to figure out a way to tweak Angel Bunny's stat block. He needs to "level up" too.
Applejack: Like Ah said before, Ah'm a "dual-wieldin'" Twin Striker now. It's a staple build, but Ah really like the flavor of it bein' AJ's hind hooves, heh heh.
Rainbow Dash: I managed to get my base speed up to 8 by multiclassing into Monk and getting Boots of Striding! Then Swift Panther Rage gives me +2, and then Bloodied Fleetness adds 1 more when bloodied! Total move speed: 11! If I double-move, that's 110 feet in six seconds!
DM: Hooray, you've reached… 4 miles per hour.
Rarity: As requested, I made two versions of Rarity: The original Rogue and the Thief. They turned out quite similarly, and they were very close in comparison. But after ruminating on it… I think I prefer, and thus will choose, the Thief. With a couple of tweaks, of course.
Twilight Sparkle: Now that I've said it out loud… I think I don't want to go full Illusionist. It doesn't really fit how I envision Twilight studying magic! She wouldn't just want to be an effective battlefield Controller, she'd… I'd want to expand my knowledge of everything, if it were me. There may be less synergy, but I'll go with a more general Arcanist build.
Pinkie Pie: Hey! Y'know how I was a Cunning Bard all this time? And then we discovered that I had Pinkie Sense? Well turns out the Virtue of Prescience is SUPER flavorful for that sorta thing! So Pinkie's gonna be a Prescient Bard now!
Gilda: Theming around seeing the future and making your own luck, huh? …I've heard worse character concepts.
DM: Oh, that reminds me… Are you two still doing the whole Rainbow Dash party in-character?
Gilda: Huh?
Pinkie Pie: Maaaaybe!
DM: Well, I was thinking, if the two party ponies end up making Dash's party so cartoonishly epic, that might be enough to–
Pinkie Pie: To get me a ticket to the Gala?!
DM: Yep.
Pinkie Pie: OOOOOOH! Please please please can we can we can we??
Gilda: <sigh>
(beat)
Cheese Sandwich: Betcha I can run circles around this lame-o party of yours.
Pinkie Pie: You're on!
