-raised to be a replacement for the future Lightning Dust lost when she lost one of her wings in an accident with the Washouts
-a very nervous child; easily startled. Do not stand behind her because she is known to kick without warning.

-raised alone by her father, Duke Blueblood; her mother was a Saddle Arabian, but she believes Fluer de Lis is her mother, as does the rest of Canterlot
-lacks a single creative bone in her body, but really enjoys settling diplomatic disputes with her father
-world traveler; genuinely curious and interested in other cultures, yet extremely snobby to an intolerable degree
-knows various languages, fencing, and knows a little bit about everything thanks to the vast library her father has
-part zebra, on Blueblood's side. She was born with stripes on her face that she's been covering up since day one. Stripes are just so…garish
-is having a rather successful courtship with Prince Indigo Sky
-used to be practically Clarabelle's sister, as Sweetie Belle would frequently babysit young Marshmallow, but fame and Canterlot culture pulled her away
-has a reckless streak that gets out of control at times
her "last name" is derived from a traditional naming scheme in Blueblood's family. With each generation, the child is given a different color with the suffix -blood. For example, Blueblood's mother was named Selena Silverblood. Blueblood's first name is Zilas, as his father was a Zebra.

So a few notes!

I was getting so…unhappy with Thunder Bird's backstory that it's getting a de-edgyfying treatment. Thunder was not so extremely abused as I've written in the past, and Lightning Dust never went insane. She was certainly a depressed pony with a short temper and no patience with childish antics, but not to such an extreme degree. Lightning Dust was rather a tough, emotionally distant mother that treated Thunder as more of an apprentice and not as a daughter. As such, Thunder's grown up without any emotional support. Most of Thunder's emotions manifest as weather and she has very little clue about how to interact with others.

I never bought that Blueblood married Sapphire Shores, so rather, Blueblood had a baby with a mysterious mare in Saddle Arabia. Do not be mistaken, this was not just another one-night stand with a foreign lady. Blueblood had fallen for this mare and cared deeply for her…but she had warned him that she was to be married off to someone else. Blueblood begged her to please come live with him in Canterlot. He would give her everything she ever dreamed of. But the mare refused, not wanting to abandon her family and live in luxury and shame. Little did she know she was pregnant. Of course, he hadn't realized it either until the mare's father showed up at Blueblood's palace, infant in hoof, tears in his eyes and such rage that the Duke had never seen before nor since. Saddle Arabian culture does not permit children borne out of wedlock, so the child was given to the father that ruined his daughter's life. Blueblood never saw the mare again, as she was shortly married to a rich Saddle Arabian in the desert mountains, and Blueblood was told never to come back or he would be killed. Needless to say, Saddle Arabian diplomacy was a tad shaky after this whole event, and yet, only a few ponies in Equestria even know it happened.
