Personality: Star is a private mare, who doesn’t get along well with her family. She’s still angry and bitter about her parents getting divorced, and shows that by distancing herself from everyone but her brother. She hates how much love Sunset has for Twilight and Sunny, and how Sunset tries to give her love to her and Orion. Star tends to push everyone in her life away, mostly out of fear of getting hurt again.

Backstory: Star Shield was the oldest child born to Twilight and Flash. She looked up to her dad, and basically idolized him. But while Twilight loved her husband deeply, Flash had his eyes on other women and rarely spent time with his family. Twilight knew this, and hoped a second child might drag Flash’s attention back to her. And so, Orion was born a year later. This strategy of Twilight’s didn’t work, and Flash left her for a pretty young unicorn when Star was seven years old. Twilight was devastated, but held it together for her children. Star refused to believe that her father had left for a long time, and refused to believe he wanted nothing to do with her and Orion for even longer. When Twilight started dating Sunset Shimmer (and eventually married her), Star had many screaming matches with her mother. In her mind, it’s Twilight’s fault that Flash isn’t coming back, and her new marriage is pushing her father away even more. Star Shield outwardly refused to be in the same room as Sunny Daze for a long while after she was born, and is still cold and bitter towards her. Subconsciously, Star knows that her dad didn’t treat Twilight, her, or Orion right, but she’s still unable to let go of this idealized version of him in her head.
