Starstruck Sparkle

Cutie Mark: A double set of stars, representing her interest in constellations and the night sky. She dreams to one day know every single constellation and making a giant star-map.
Occupation: Heir to Princess Twilights Throne, and princess-in-training.
Nickname(s): Star.

Personality:
- Know-it-all, secretly very geeky, headstrong
- Loves the night sky, and anything star related!
- She gets all flustered and puffed up when someone compliments her.
- Harbours a lot of self-doubt, and feels like the odd-one-out in her family.

When Twilight Sparkle was just starting out as high princess and third ruler of Equestria, she was extremely stressed. The expectations she had to meet, how perfect everything she did have to be, but there was one person she could relax around; Flash Sentry.
The winged stallion was Twilights personal guard, and the two grew close over the years. It also didn't help that Twilight had crushed on the stallion when she was younger, and their relationship became official very fast — which actually resulted in a rushed romance that ended up in a pregnancy.
While Flash was overjoyed at being a father, though he admitted it was a bit quick, Twilight was stressed out of her mind. With all the new responsibilities, plus a foal on top of that, she felt her world coming down around her. Flash was supportive as could be, and Twilight loved him deeply for the care he showed her during her pregnancy. But Twilight grew more and more panicked, bitter, reluctant and angry at herself for being so careless as to conceive at this time.
This resulted in her pushing away her loved ones, and eventually her feelings for Flash Sentry grew bitter and tarnished. She still loved him, but didn't quite feel that she could maintain this relationship any longer. She gave birth to Starstruck and held her newborn foal in her hoofs and felt… nothing. The reality of it all caught up to her, and in the end it only caused her to get a postpartum depression. She didn't feel capable of being a mother at all, what with all her responsibilities and the lack of time she had for the foal.

Flash Sentry, visibly affected by Twilight depression, tried to care for the foal on his own, but found himself out of his depth as he'd never tried anything like it and couldn't help but feel he was somehow to blame for all of this. He quickly succumbed to his own dark thoughts, and in the end, thought it best if it all stopped.
The two never married, despite what they suddenly had in common, and Flash Sentry left for the Crystal Empire when Starstruck was one year old, though he still visits on a weekly basis.
Twilight eventually came to care for and give the foal the love and affection it deserved, but those early months of Starstrucks infancy still left the young pegasi scarred.

Starstruck tries her best to be everything a princess should be; elegant, charming, wise, fair and lady-like.. she doesn't always succeed. She has a nervous temper like her mother, and cannot handle when things go wrong (she panics).
Starstruck is very knowledgeable, and she loves learning about the world! And worlds beyond the world — she loves everything interstellar, and she has been working for a very long time to create a giant star-map.
She's very dedicated, and a hard worker — so she tries her best to be the best princess in the world, to make her mother proud.

She does feel like the odd one out though, as her family is primarily unicorns, and while she carries some genes from the magical blood, she is very much a pegasus — and she'd always wondered if that is why her mother treats her diffirently.




Extra(s):
- Starstruck loves being around her mother, and she's always looking for her approval. She doesn't really know her father, and sees him more like a general of the crystal empire, than anything else.

- Starstruck is very introverted, much like her mother before she came to Ponyville, and she has difficulties making friends.

- Even though Starstruck does not posses any magic, she's training hard to be the perfect princess — in the sky.

- She feels like the odd-one-out, since she's the only pegasus of her family and therefore does not posses magic.
