Backstory: When Irene was born, her parents who were suffering from problems, such as narcissism and alcoholism, were trying to settle into Ponyville after getting evicted from their home in Canterlot, while also being separated from her older sister Destiny Blood, who remained in Canterlot with their lenient grandfather. Soon after Irene's birth, Destiny was sent to live with her family in Ponyville, where she met her sister for the first time. They would have a sisterly bond together growing up.

Despite the abuse that the sisters have suffered from their mother, with their father having no energy to intervene, they were inseparable. They ended up taking refuge in a shack near their home after Irene led Destiny to it.

Because Destiny had to go to school, she was left with no choice but to leave Irene behind. Despite being left alone, however, Irene had little to no problem. Whenever Destiny got home from school, depressed, Irene, despite being an infant at the time, would try her best to cheer her up. Little did Irene know, she ended up saving her older sister's life by having her in therapy, where they both met Grace. Irene and Destiny's parents would eventually get the help that they needed after the realization that they wanted their own daughters to be happy, but were unable to due to their past problems.

At one point in her life, Irene struggled with whether or not she'll get her cutie mark. However, there was one thing that she was passionate about: flying. As a result, Irene flew around the sky to her heart's desire, while also forming the clouds with an inspirational message.

Sometime after the event, Irene and Destiny befriended Sweet Peach and her younger step-brother Pretty Chill, the latter whom they have a close bond with. However, Irene had a little bit of trouble with Chill since he liked to flirt with her on some occasions, while Irene only saw him as a friend. They later met the rest of their new friends, Neko Star, Sailor Blossom, Clover Sparks, and Super Pop, after their connection to the Special Gems, and together, they formed The Squad. Irene represents the Gem of Trust.

Despite the difficult times she and her sister go through, Irene and Destiny would always be there for each other no matter what, and it will continue like this until the very end.

I'll admit, I didn't want to change Irene's design much, since I thought she was adorable Heart. The only changes that I made for her, though, was that I gave her a light gradient on her wings, and changed her cutie mark to a much simpler design.
