Unfortunately due to her advanced age, Granny Smith passed before she ever got to meet either of AJ's boys.
During the service, Golden Delicious offered to move closer to Ponyville to support the Apple siblings and they happily accepted this.
Come to learn that Goldie is more than your average eccentric old lady. She's also a witch.

She made an easy connection with Wyken as he showed a great interest in non-unicorn magic in his early years. The two are now inseparable even at Goldie's age. Wyk often skips farm work to make potions with his nana.


Goldie lives on the edge of Sweet Apple Acres with her several cats and a Dracodea named Brownie Boy [the winged cat thing]/
While AJ vaguely regrets inviting her to stay [AJ is not fond of the occult and cats] she's happy to have this old wise-ass close by. And believe me, Goldie is a wise-ass. She's a great deal sassier than Granny Smith was with far fewer filters. She and AJ have a difficult relationship because AJ thinks she's a crazy cat lady and Goldie thinks AJ is an idiot. Goldie is much more book smart and tends to tease poor AJ a lot. AJ takes it well and tries to fire back.
She's still very interested in genealogy but she also handles SAA finances. While she's close to 95 now, Goldie is still pretty active and very alert. She's currently teaching AJ's eldest son how to take care of the business end of owning a farm so her knowledge while coming with a sass tax, is so integral.
