1. Chrysanthemum is the apple of her father's eye. Big Mac has doted on his little flower petal since the day she was born. He loves teaching her everything he can about the farm, and to his delight, she eats it all up like apple pie. The two have spent many hours on the farm together, harvesting apples, cultivating the trees, and plowing the fields. Chryssi's strength and big heart never fails to impress her father. Big Mac may not be as talkative as his daughter, but he is always there to listen, no matter what she wants to chatter on about that the moment. In fact, it makes the work of the day all the more worthwhile. While he doesn't exactly articulate it as much as he knows he should, the pride he has for Chrysanthemum, and the way she has stepped into his horseshoes, is bigger than any orchard on this planet.
2. Chryssi has a deep fondness for animals (influenced, of course, by a certain 'aunt' and 'cousin'), especially dogs. Good old Winona stayed with the family until a few months after her twentieth birthday. Chrysanthemum was just as crushed as her Aunt Jackie. Despite her age, Winona had looked after her new 'pups' quite closely after they joined the pack. She tolerated their curious pets and pokes, and eventually clumsy hugs. When she passed away, the little filly could only cry into her aunt's arms, knowing for sure there would never, ever be another dog like Winona. Feeling like there was a big hole in the family, Applejack consults Fluttershy — who had taken in a stray Labrador who happened to be pregnant. She and all of her puppies had already been adopted…except for the runt of the litter. When she visits her, AJ notices a spirit in her that is quite reminiscent of her beloved collie. The moment the squirmy little black butterball is placed into her hooves, the delighted filly can only stare into those big brown eyes, so eager and already full of love. Since then, Chrysanthemum and the aptly-named Raven have been best friends ever since.
3. While her life isn't glamorous, it is exciting and full of adventure. Chrysanthemum is ever-cheerful and treasures each day, always looking forward to what's next, and enjoying each moment the sun is on her back, or she's making some tea, she's with her friends and family, or just running through the fields of her home.
