Oh, also the puns. 'Cause you can't have a good MLP map without more puns than you can shake a stick at.

Despite, or perhaps because, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the show as it actually developed, this remains by far my favorite map of Equestria. Part of it that is surely because of the great attention to detail shown by the creator and the humorous and rather explicit parallels with the real world (Manehattan literally is Manhattan here!). Another, probably larger, part is because of the way that they took the very slim lore available in season 1 and spun it into a reasonably complete universe (given that we only have three maps of it), making it a rather nostalgic piece of early fandom.
