“Try again.”

Her name is Bina but the regulars call her “Booker”. The guys with broken kneecaps used to call her “Birdie”. She’s small and doesn’t fight fair, works as the book keeper and enforcer down at the racetrack. Loud and raunchy, she sometimes shows up to work drunk, and usually only wearing underwear. Is a zebra. Otherwise Nocturnal.

I originally meant to only keep her on my nsfw channels but as her backstory grew, I really fell in love. More after the break.

The racetrack, itself is a front. In all actuality, it is an underground fight ring and casino, a pit where all sorts of gamblers, con artists, and soothsayers gather. Money flows like water and debt piles in mountains, IOUs and tabs passed around with a terrified inevitability. These debts must be enforced, lest customers begin taking advantage of the racetrack’s generosity. This is where Bina comes in.

Bina was originally slated to be a competitor in the fight rings, but that plan fell through; she learned to fight with brutal pragmatism, using poisons, weapons, improvised tools, and all sorts of underhanded tactics. She cannot take on most of the competitors in a clean fight, bare-handed, as she lacks the hand-to-hand skill in addition to the fact that most of them stand six feet tall or taller against her 5′4″. She’s a demon with just about anything remotely dangerous in-hand, but racetrack rules disallow a majority of her technique.

Rather than let Bina slip through the cracks, the racetrack hired her on to fill a different niche much more suited to her circumstances, which was as an enforcer rather than a competitive fighter. As an enforcer, she tracks down tabs and handles debts, and unlike the competitive fighters, she is unrestricted by the competitive fighting rules. As a result, further “IOU”s and “I can’t pay”s always end messy.


Bina is a fairly relaxed person. She loves to tease and push buttons and laugh, would rather listen to you complain about your in-laws than talk about the weather. She’s loud and passionate, shows off often and will totally be your friend, but she has no qualms about breaking limbs or “making examples” to get her job done. She is by no means moral or objective. Her thoughts are less “Killing is wrong, but a I have to do my job,” and more, “I wish I didn’t have to break Arty’s leg, but man I hope Rocky can’t pay, because I can’t wait to cave his skull in.”

She is by no means a “good person”, but you should hope to be in her, and the racetrack’s, good graces. She’s a powerful ally, a passionate friend, and a great drinking partner, but it doesn’t matter how guilty she’ll feel smashing your kneecap. A job’s a job, and if you ever have to write in an IOU, she’ll have to do hers.
