Honorary Younger Sister // I'd rather be me with you



"He reminded Pinkie of her baby sister Marble, quiet, hardworking, but so loving and affectionate. It wasn't hard to catch Big Mac snuggled up with Applebloom after a long day of work, or giving her sister long hugs after she had a fight or argument at school. Applejack had the words to inspire and reassure her siblings, but Big Mac had the touch and sensibility needed to relax them, whether it was with a long hug or a quiet nap together under the apple trees.

After the events of "Apple Pie" (the episode) Big Mac became very familiar and amicable with Pinkie, she constantly visited the farm and was always greeted with a smile, and a warm pie or two.
It was always so busy in the farm… with Applejack working the morning in the school of friendship and afternoon in the farm; and Applebloom both in school and later with the CMCs, Big Mac was left alone all day in the farm, helping out Granny and doing the house-cleaning chores, he did love his job and didn't mind taking care of others and the house, but it was too quiet, even for himself. Having Pinkie over from time to time brought him so much joy and happiness, and not only from the joy Pinkie radiated just with her smile, but also for the excellent company she was. She always had something to talk about, and it was fun just listening to her talk while he was cleaning up. So many mornings were spent in the Apple Farm where Pinkie came over for a late breakfast and kept Big Mac company while he was preparing lunch and dinner for the rest of his family.

At this point Pinkie was already considered a third sister to the family, although she was more of a second distant cousin legally, who cared? Definitely not him.

Pinkie always told him that he would get along so well with her sister Marble, and although he loved and respected her close family, he didn't need any more quietness and hard work around him, so he choose not to bother." ♥️

Ever since I've rewatched "Apple Pie" a couple of times, I've noticed how much I love the idea that Pinkie might be related to AJ's family, and even tho it's not confirmed, I said, why not make it canon in my own Next-Gen universe? And so I did! They're still distant cousins in my AU, but they're for sure blood-related, and you'll see soon part of Pinkie's biological family soon, I think you're really gonna like it! ♥️
Also I'm sure you can tell my dislike of the bigmac x marble ship with this description I wrote xd what can I say I just don't like them together.

Talking about technicallity, OMGGG this drawing took so long, everytime I thought I was done with it, I spotted a new mistake or missing detail, and I just couldn't ignore it. Tell me in the comments if you like this new style of rendering/shading, cause I've made at least one more piece with a similar style, and I quite enjoy it myself! The background was made with a mix of render and blurred lineart, which I didn't think would look good at first, but it does at the end! So I'm happy with that result. The characters themselves have a ton of filters above so they would merge well with the background and sky colors

Tell me in the comments how you feel about these versions of the characters, cause those are the designs I'm going for in my AU! Pinkie is just small, round and fluffly with patches of white fur, while Big Mac is as big as stallions get, with patches of darker red and white fur that resemble draft horses.
