Must say, it's been a long while since I drew Shining and Cadance. I thought I would create something about how they first met. I know that the comics had a story about their teenage years, but I rarely take stuff in the comics as canon. So I rather did my own headcanon idea of it.

Cadance been Twilight's foalsitter for a while, but she and Shining never met. He always came home late and by that time he did, she already left. Expect one day, when a heavy rain came in Canterlot and the afternoon training got cancelled. They met just as Cadance was ready to go home. It may have been love at first sight.

Also, cos I kinda like cliches, Shining didn't know the unicorn mare she met was in fact an alicorn princess. Cadance was turned into an alicorn not too long ago and her coronation was held much later. It was a pretty big shock for Shining when he found it out.
