In an alternate universe, the G5 Movie culminates in a stand-off with Sprout. Our intrepid heroes find themselves face to face with a foe from Equestria's past: an entity thought to have been destroyed long ago. Though, they will not have to face this foe alone. The Pillars, who disappeared generations ago, have once again returned from limbo to help defeat this ancient enemy, and bring Friendship back to Equestria.
