This was a really unique idea I came up with while drawing that solo Sunset pic a week ago. I was wondering what Sunset Shimmer's cutie mark even means, when I finally came to the conclusion that it is supposed to represent her rise, fall, and second rising throughout her storyline arcs. Her demonic form would be the time that she was at her darkest, and her half-pony form would be her achieving redemption for it. Her pony form looks towards the darkness, not knowing where the path would lead, while her human form looks up optimistically for her new future.
