Socks, being an blacksmith for the Royal Guard, has gotten a chance to wear some modified armor and show it off.
The Blue lines are part of a channeling spell. Any magic attack is mostly absorbed and stored within hundreds of small modules inside the suit, ready to be used when the wearer casts their own spells and increasing the potency based on the charge level.
The rounded body panels are excellent at bouncing incoming projectiles. A two layer undersuit protects the wearer even further. A layer of open cell latex forms an inertial dampening system, deadening any blows that come in. The outer layer, seen at the joints, is a silicone backed kevlar weave to keep shrapnel and heat out. While not shown, the suit has hundreds of flaps that can raise and retract, increasing the surface area of the suit to shed heat when need be.
