Even though Prince Acheron Justitiam was born an alicorn, he doesn't have anything to rule. He is respected, since he is one of the few natural born alicorns in Equestria, but since he was little he could hear the whispers of the elite members, this made him hate his wings and horn, he feels he doesn't deserve them. He was raised along with Nightmare and Twilight's daughters, he was given the same lessons as Spectra, even if he didn't really would use that knowledge in the future.

His mother rightful kingdom was taken by Sombra years ago, even before he was born, and even if his father is the "adopted son" of Empress Nightmare Moon, he won't inherit the kingdom. He is the captain of the royal guard, so at least he has a little bit of authority over something.

He is betrothed to Princess Blood Rosabella, his parents and hers are trying to make an even stronger truce between the crystal ponies and the umbrums…but how can you love someone when you don't love yourself?
