Personality/Background:

A quiet and patient dental hygienist, Bright Smiles is the daughter of Pinkie Pie and Princess Skystar. Bright Smiles has a strong sense of (rather dry) humor; ponies often find themselves surprised by how often she makes quips or witty comments. She got her cutie mark when she took an interest in her dentist's various tools during a routine check-up. The dentist asked Bright Smiles if she'd like to shadow him for a day, and she agreed — once the day was over, she was surprised to learn that she'd gotten her cutie mark.

As a dentist living in a sweets shop, Bright Smiles struggled to bond with her mothers initially, feeling that they had very little in common. However, Pinkie can and will go out of her way to make connections with the ponies around her, and her daughter was no exception. As a result, Bright Smiles generally has a good relationship with both of her parents, and both of them actually listen to her. For example, as a filly just starting to learn about proper dental hygiene, she insisted that there needed to be signs encouraging ponies to take care of their teeth after eating sweets around Sugarcube Corner, and her parents willingly obliged. She's not very vocally affectionate, but she's fiercely protective of her younger brother Jellyfish Jamboree and cares a lot about him.
