Cadance and Shining Armor found a foal outside of the Crystal Empire, they decided to adopt it when nopony came forward to claim the foal as their own child.

They've asked around ponies but ponies just said they've never seen the foal before.

Flurry Heart wasn't exactly the happiest when her parents had told her she was going to be a sister. She actually didn't know what to think.

Shining Armor and Cadance named the baby Crystal Heart. They said that she was as precious the the heart of the Crystal Empire, which made Flurry Heart upset.

Flurry missed the times Cadance would cradle her and read her to sleep just like she does to her step-sister now.

Flurry often sat on the balcony outside her room, wishing on a shooting star that she would be an only child again. She knows this is selfish, but she can clearly see that Crystal Heart has become the favourite child after two months of living with them.
