Personally, a little sad that I ran out of space for West Wind's sword, but oh well. Other then that, I think he turned out fine. Most of West's backstory is about his mom, but I guess that's just how it is. XD
WARNING: LORE DUMP. Turnback Now
Born to a family of sailors, West Wind grew up on the seas with his mother, a woman named Silver Contrails, and to an unknown father-at least, unknown as far as he knows. They'd sail the seas of Everglow, following where the wind took them and following the map that was the stars. Things would take a harsh turn when their ship was hit by pirates. And being just a young colt, West Wind was no help in fending them off and the ship's cargo was taken.
Not able to recuperate from the debt that came from not being able to pay finish a job, Silver would be forced to sell her beloved ship. She'd retire in a small town and would live mostly comfortable, being able to remarry even. She admitted to having missed the call for adventure, but was happy to leave it behind her. But he knew West Wind didn't miss it and knew he'd answer the call.
Silver would help her son West Wind prepare for the day he'd leave home-teaching him how to use a sword, for one thing, as well as saving up to buy him a sword while he bought his own armor. It would be a loving goodbye when he left home.
