[bq]Page 132 — Branches and Forks
The world of the RPG is built on spoken words, character figures, and grid-based sets, but sometimes a single detailed picture that the players can touch and observe can do a lot to enhance the mental picture of the world.
In other news, I have a couple of meetup/convention announcements to make: First, in July, I plan to attend Northwest Bronyfest 2012 in Portland, Oregon. Then, a month later, I've made plans to go to the one and only Everfree Northwest":http://everfreenw.com/ convention in Seattle, Washington! I hope to see as many of you there that can make it, and I also hope I'll have neat Friendship is Dragons-related stuff to show off at both events. It should be a fun couple of months![/bq]
Transcript:
Rarity: What’s all this about a map, then?
SFX: (SCHWIP)
Twilight Sparkle: This.
Fluttershy: Wow. That’s a lot of detail.
Twilight Sparkle: Not a whole lot. There’s no scale on this map.
DM: Um, I’m sorry?
Twilight Sparkle: I’ll just have to make do.
Fluttershy: What are all of these markings?
Twilight Sparkle: Well, there IS a legend… This symbol means “avalanche hazard.” And THIS symbol apparently means “cockatrice nest.” So we probably want to avoid that.
Fluttershy: It all looks… very dangerous.
Twilight Sparkle: Not at all! So long as we pick the fastest route with the fewest obstacles.
Rainbow Dash: Come on! Don’t take ALL the fun out of it!
