About; Princess Penumbra was quite a surprise to those around Princess Celestia, even her own son, Eclipse. After Princess Twilight had made a makeshift mirror portal, Princess Celestia asked the purple alicorn if she could borrow it for a few days, and using the shard of mirror she had kept from the prototype mirror to her Sombra's world, Princess Celestia found herself once again in the world of her love. After stumbling upon him in a remote cave and having a heartwarming reunion, Celestia promised to come see him again as soon as she could, even promising to bring Eclipse the next time.

A year later after many visits, the tiny unicorn filly was born to Celestia. Named in coordination with both her brother and father, the tiny princess was blessed as a heir to the throne after her brother.

Personality; Unlike her well-spoken brother, Penumbra is full of energy and always brimming with it. She has quite the creative mind, always using her imagination and admiring her Aunt Luna's beautiful night (even feeling a connection to the night monarch due to her name). She enjoys visiting her father when her mother plans the trips, often listening to his stories with wide eyes and enjoying his presence.
