This is my entry for EStories "Style Your G5" Contest.

I included all of my (fairly recent) past drawings of my OC, Genesis in past generations. For G5, I chose the concept art that was done by Erica Worthylake. It was my absolute favorite of all of the G5 "leaks" I've seen so far. It looks so elegant and easy to animate. I did my best to replicate the style, and I honestly think I did it justice quite well if not for some proportion mistakes. I also thought the hair was turning out horribly while I was drawing it, but after it was finished it didn't turn out too bad.

One thing I thought was interesting about these designs is that they don't have cutie marks! I'd be pretty sad to see them go if they plan on removing them since they were always a defining feature of the franchise. Maybe they're just missing to leave room for future designs. I also wasn't sure what to do with the markings on the face, so I came up with my own interpretation.

They certainly are very convincing. I was sure they were fake (even if they are beautiful) because it would be very hard to make a sturdy toyline out of something so skinny. But then after doing some research, I discovered that this Erica Worthylake is not only a real person, but a professional character designer and worked on the animation team for the G4 My Little Pony Movie!

Unless she did these just for fun, they have a very good chance of being real or at least having some influence on the final design. I for one LOVE them.

(I mean there is still the chance that these are still elaborate hoaxes by some rando fanartist who found this obscure character designer's name and plastered it on there, but let's not be downers. It's more fun to hope it's true)
