Ponerpics seems to be a Derpibooru alternative with less rules. Ponybooru and Twibooru seem to be archives. What about Manebooru? It seems to be a Derpibooru alternative, but it doesn’t specify what makes it different. So what is its purpose?

Howdy, have a question on when to use tags like dragonified and such. I'm uploading (with full permission of the creator) the entirety of the Noodleverse AU to Manebooru, but there's a question that occurs to me on it. This is a species swap AU, and in it, Twilight is a dragon (among many other species changes in the AU). So my question is, is it appropriate to use the "dragonified" tag on every image of Twilight in this AU?
I'm using the "series:noodleverse", "species swap", and "alternate universe" tags, but I'm unsure about the "dragonified" one in that in this AU, Twilight was not turned into a dragon, she was always a dragon. Take, for example, this image:
In it, we have Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rarity. Within the context of the AU, Rarity is a sea serpent, but was changed to be a dragon by Fluttershy's Draconequus magic for the sake of land travel. So thus the dragonified tag is applicable to Rarity and should be on the image. But what about the draconequified tag for Fluttershy? She is always a draconequus in this AU, so I am unsure.
So far I've been adding the -ified tags under the logic that people looking for Twilight as a dragon may search "character:twilight, dragonified" and thus might find the images and AU that way. But this image gave me pause because of the unique matter of Rarity, who is normally a pony in canon, but is a sea serpent in this AU, but is changed to a dragon in this exact image.

I believe that ableism should be included under Rule 2b. Some examples would be the retarded tag (link), images such as >>1372802 as well as other images that make jokes about someone’s disabilities, mental or physical

I can't make a new conversation (the dm feature) on this site, while the conversations page still exists it's clear that it's been removed purposefully.
So I was wondering why and will it ever be added back? I personally really like the feature and was going to use it before noticing it's gone on here.

We've made a slight edit to rule 2c in our rules page. The intent remains the same but the wording is hopefully more clear.
The previous version was:
"Do not upload suggestive, questionable or explicit content of characters generally considered to be underage."
The new version is:
"Do not upload suggestive, questionable or explicit content of characters portrayed as, or intended to be, underage."
It was brought to our attention that the old version was not clear enough and left room for misunderstandings. Let us be clear that the our intent was always to allow not-safe content of characters that are usually minors as long as they are aged up in a convincing manner.
As for what counts as "convincing", there's a few factors. For humans and anthros it's usually easy and relies mostly on proportions. When it comes to ponies or some races in the show, it gets more difficult. Proportions or size can sometimes not be enough, depending on the artist's style and even within the show's style itself, so we have to take into account things like context, maybe anatomy and finally but most importantly, artist intent. Manebooru considers it very important to respect artists' wishes and preference in regards to their own art and we're gonna keep trying to uphold that as much as possible.
There are certainly edge cases that can be seen one way or the other and the team acknowledges them. We try to draw a coherent line but it's not going to be perfect. For anyone that finds these cases upsetting you are free to report them or approach us and we can at least give you our reasoning, your might disagree anyway but try to acknowledge where we're coming from and leave it at that.
For anyone who in no way, shape or form wants to see this content that classifies as aged up, or doesn't want to risk the edge cases, we recommend hiding tags like "older apple bloom" or "older spike". It is our policy that any not-safe content involving certain characters must, by necessity, have these tags in them, and we enforce it very strongly, so it should be pretty safe.
The topic is up for discussion for anyone that wishes to do so. If you want to link to examples or something, please make sure to spoil it properly.

Dear staff:
There is one thing I have been quite confused about since joining this site a few days ago: why are there so many people in the Manechat Discord server that you operate, and yet so little actual activity here on this site? I would think that many of the people that use the Manechat would also like to comment on images directly that are uploaded to this site, or even upload images themselves. Instead, the only people who seem to be uploading here, other than the one image I uploaded myself, are the people that operate the site, and comments are very few and far between, as well. Are the people on the Discord server just not interested in this site? If so, I think that is quite sad, since from my own experience this site has been amazing. Hopefully you all can help clarify that a bit.

Currently, you can't have fewer than fifteen images per page (in the Display settings). Several months ago on Derpibooru, I requested that it be lowered to 12 or lower (12 is the best for the monitor I usually browse these sites on).
Byte[] then lowered the minimum to 1:
https://github.com/philomena-dev/philomena/commit/89d3eccef3bd90661ec7c515e0ecfb5574652db5
Could this change be implemented here too?

Please use this thread for requesting or suggesting any changes to tags. Implications, aliases, new prefixed tags, descriptions, whatever comes to mind.

The current spoiler tags are:
spoiler:comic (season 10) — Implied by spoiler:comic 89 all the way to spoiler:comic 94 for now, more will be added or changed as the issus publish.
spoiler:g5 — Implied by my little pony g5 show and my little pony: the movie (2021), placeholder tags until we have proper titles.
That means simple g5 fanart or character design is no longer considered a spoiler. We're gonna hold that tag for teaser/trailer stuff and possible leaks.
Additionally, this isn't completely decided yet, but assuming the movie releases on a streaming platform as promised, it will likely be considered to be in spoilers for a week, maybe two. After that it will be free-for-all
For the show and each of its episodes, it's going to depend a lot on the release schedule, so we'll let you know.

Since rape is grimdark, should dubcon get the semi-grimdark rating? Some images already have it and I feel like it makes sense

OC tag descriptions are now open to anyone, provided they follow the requirements below. It's important to know, before making a request, that OC tags are not owned by anyone. They are not verified like artist tags are. They are just for what we hope is helpful information. If two OCs have the same name, they can share the same tag, like OC:Jasmine.
→ 1. List the Character's name. Use a relative link. If you don't know how, just copy and paste the text below and replace anon or cloudy canvas with the name you're requesting a description for:
This link must be entirely in lowercase; the link won't work otherwise.
→ 2. List the creator's Manebooru account, if they have one. The easiest way to find this is just to click their artist tag and see if there's an associated user. You can link the account in the post the same way as you do the OC name in step 1:
If they don't have an account (or it's not public), include a link to the creator's primary website, such as a DeviantArt, Tumblr, Furaffinity, Patreon, or Pixiv acccount. If you know of a website where you can find out more about the OC (such as a Tumblr "Ask" page) list that as well. If any of these outside links are NSFW, please mention that they are.
If the creator is truly unknown, or a collaboration, state that. Some OCs originated on 4chan's /mlp/ board and are collaborations, and we list them as such.
→ 3. List the character's species and (primary) sex. Use whatever binary or nonbinary terms you wish. If they often appear as a R63 version, or if they're usually in human or anthro form, feel free to mention it.
→ 4. Description: Write one or two lines describing their personality, hobbies, job, physical traits, sexual orientation, or other characteristics that are noteworthy. This must be safe-rated (even if a majority of the pictures of the character are not), so be creative. If they are involved somehow (employed by, related to, lover of, neighbors of, etc.) with another character (canon or OC), mention it. Please link any other related OC in the same manner as the link in step 1.
→ 5. Image Link a safe-rated image of the character that is posted on Manebooru. Link using the >>123456s format. Images where they are solo and in pony form (for anthros) are greatly preferred.
Any requests going forward that don't meet these criteria will be rejected, but we'll try to state why so that you can fix it.
→ 1. List the Character's name. Use a relative link. If you don't know how, just copy and paste the text below and replace anon or cloudy canvas with the name you're requesting a description for:
Typing "oc:anon":/tags/oc-colon-anon gives you oc:anon
If the character has a space in their name, replace it with a plus sign: "oc:cloudy canvas":/tags/oc-colon-cloudy+canvas becomes oc:cloudy canvas
This link must be entirely in lowercase; the link won't work otherwise.
→ 2. List the creator's Manebooru account, if they have one. The easiest way to find this is just to click their artist tag and see if there's an associated user. You can link the account in the post the same way as you do the OC name in step 1:
Typing "Kaifloof":/profiles/Kaifloof creates a link to the account: Kaifloof. Note that the account names are case-sensitive!

i was looking through tags to try to find things that slipped through and it's kind of hard because of the report feature being limited, is there something i could do like.. list post numbers or tag them with a specific tag or something?
it's like, i don't want to spam the reports and be annoying, but i do want to help find anything rulebreaking that slipped through xP

Not sure if there is any place to post this, but I wanted some place to post character tags that could be set as "Character:name" tags.
I will add as I go, but if others discover something then they can post it here too.
First one I have found is Bloomberg the tree.

Is this a glitch? I submitted a couple yesterday and they still haven't appeared on the front page, even though they processed.

Yes, you can. We can't do it for you (at least not currently), but importing a watchlist is simple to do, at least if you're importing from a different Booru.
Much like the tags in an image, your watchlist is saved in your settings as a bunch of tags, and that bunch can be edited in what we call a Plain Editor way, which allows for easy copy-pasting.
If you got to https://manebooru.art/settings/edit in your own account you can see the section I'm talking about, in the first tab titled Watch List. You can simply go to the same menu on the other site, click the Plain Editor button there, copy the list, come back to you settings here, click Plain Editor and paste it here. After that you just save your settings.
I hope that was clear, if not here's a couple images that might help.
It is possible for an artist to have different tags across sites, but in my experience this is fairly uncommon. In cases like that you can ask around and maybe one of us (or a user) will know the appropriate tag.

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
